ALA to hold residential lighting course
(USA) – The American Lighting Association will host a four-day lighting training course from October 22-25 in The SMART Center at Dallas Market Center.
The members-only workshop, taught by Joe Rey-Barreau, AIA, is based on content from the ALA Residential Lighting Training Manual. Upon completion of the course and examination, attendees will earn an ALA Lighting Specialist designation.
Attendees will experience a dynamic course held inside The SMART Center, the new education and activity centre powered by American Lighting Association and Dallas Market Center. The course is the first event to take place in the centre since its opening at the June 2018 edition of Lightovation – Dallas International Lighting Show. Conceived as a business hub for the lighting industry, The SMART Center includes a seminar suite and lounge area and is located in the largest residential lighting marketplace in North America.
Instructor Joe Rey-Barreau, with an extensive history of educating the lighting industry, will lead attendees through an exploration of fundamental and advanced lighting principles, design techniques, and sales strategies. Rey-Barreau is an award-winning professor with tenure at the University of Kentucky’s School of Design.
The Lighting Training Course is the first of many planned uses for The SMART Center, reaffirming Dallas Market Center as the home of the residential lighting industry and a hub for product knowledge, the latest trends, commerce, and education.
