Nabil Issa - Galactic Light Series
Initially inspired by The Death Star from Star Wars and Hal 9000 from 2001: A Space Odyssey, the Galactic light is reminiscent of the 'all-seeing eye' theme that played a pivotal role in many sci-fi classics.
Galactic is available in various shapes and sizes; the Galactic floor lamp, the Galactic globe, and the Galactic ceiling light. All variations feature minimalistic lines and circular forms, are made of polished brass, are easily transportable and are made to fit any space.
O'Reilly's, Belgium
O’Reilly’s Irish Pub is a traditional Irish pub located in the Bourse area of Brussels, Belgium and is part of the O’Reilly’s pub chain started in 1994.
The new pub in Brussels was designed by Irish-based interior designers, The Pub Design Co. and is spread over two floors that boast a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The lighting for this space features Mullan Lighting’s Cullen five-arm industrial dish chandelier which adds an industrial touch to O’Reilly’s whilst complimenting the wooden decor sprinkled throughout the pub.
The interior design takes the form of old-style wooden decor, beer barrel style tables and leather seating booths. Mullan Lighting’s Apia swivel wall lights illuminate both the seating areas and the grand wooden fireplace, encapsulating the pub’s Irish tradition and giving it a vintage flair.
Mullan’s Rigo double-cage wall lights highlight the Irish artwork on the walls and their delicate brass cages and exposed decorative filament bulbs complement the pub’s traditional decor.
The traditional wooden staircase is lit by Mullan’s Minsk copper pendant light and Marlow cage lamp suspended from the ceiling.
Xico, Ireland
Xico is an underground “Mexican styled party cavern” located on the bustling Baggot Street of Dublin city centre.
This original venue separates itself from other bars in the area, serving traditional Mexican cuisine from 5pm every day, with nightly fiestas running through the evening into the early hours of the morning.
As this transition from evening to morning takes place, the light dims to facilitate a more club-like experience and the music and party-atmosphere increases.
Riad clear globe wall lights shine illuminate the textured, crumbled walls and radiate a warm hue that creates a soft inviting glow, facilitating the hourly change of atmosphere.
With three different bars throughout Xico, guests can enjoy a range of atmospheres, from an extravagant party-venue to salsa the night away, to a more intimate bar-experience with cosy nooks and crannies throughout.
The hand-painted Hacienda-style furniture is reminiscent of 18th-century drinking taverns, creating an old world feel throughout. Riad pendant lights are suspended from the rafters inside this wooden tavern.
Cameron Design House unveils chandelier at Holiday House
(USA) - Holiday House NYC 2018 showcased work from over 20 renowned designers by transforming a spectacular New York, Upper East Side home into a showroom.
Raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the event gave members of the public the opportunity to experience these designs for the first time.
Bespoke, sculptural pieces from UK-based Cameron House Design were featured throughout the space including a 20-metre version of the studio's Haara Metsa pendant suspended from the ceiling in the centre of the spiral staircase.
The chandelier evokes the natural beauty of a weeping willow and its cylindrical lanterns are assembled from hand-drawn glass and polished brass.
Ian Cameron, Creative Director of Cameron Design House, said: “It is a huge privilege to be involved in Holiday House NYC 2018 - it is such a beautiful project for a fantastic cause.
"This is our first year of getting involved with Holiday House, and to be part of a collaboration of designers from across America has been a huge honour. This is the longest Haara Metsa we have made to date at 20-metres long and we couldn’t be happier with the result! We wanted our Haara Metsa to be a centrepiece for the show, bringing all of the spaces together to create a showstopping design experience.”

Bert Frank brings new lines to Maison & Objet, Paris
(France) – Designed and made in the UK, Bert Frank’s new lines, Rift, Trave and Tanto will join existing ranges at Maison & Objet in January 2019.
Rift embodies the careful balance between simplicity and glamour, is available as a wall light and a pendant, and has an Opal Glass globe with solid brass backplates for added sophistication.
Trave, available as a pendant, table or wall light, speaks of glamour and refinement. It has an Art Deco two-tier shade, an either Green Guatemalan or White Carrera marble detail, and reeded, fluted brass stems on the pendant and table lamp versions.
The collection’s final addition, Tanto, is characterised by its slim, minimal profile with the combination of two asymmetric brass rods and a central cylindrical opal lamp. The rods are connected together by either Green Guatemala or White Carrera marble, and the light is available as either a small or large wall light.
Schneid Lighting - Figura
The name 'Figura' directly relates to the special shape of the lighting which uses lines to form three different versions. These versions can be installed separately or in a combination of the three.
With the fine metal tube, the line of the cable becomes a design element and part of the sculptural silhouette. The three shades, inspired by the authentic aesthetics of classic industrial lamps, have a minimalist, graphic expression.
VILLAVERDE London - Orbita
The Orbita Brass & Leather Chandelier, designed by Claudio Marco exclusively for VILLAVERDE London, was handmade in Italy. The leather elements come in a variety of colours from Caramel to Nude, and the brass from Nickel to Gold.
Palazzo Barovier&Toso opens doors in Venice
(Italy) – Palazzo Barovier&Toso, designed by Calvi Brambilla, is a unique site on the banks of the Rio dei Vetrai in Venice which takes it’s visitors through the history of Barovier&Toso’s centuries-old lighting designs.
The 900 square metre space underwent a complete renovation of its internal spaces, on three levels, to narrate the unique story of a brand founded in 1295.
“To make the new Palazzo a reality, we have thought about a space where history and the contemporary can coexist, as the two primary essences of Barovier&Toso,” says Paolo Brambilla.
“We have been able to harmoniously combine an essential, modern interior design concept with the majesty of Murano glass, enhanced by a context full of light and reflections,” Fabio Calvi adds.
The project is based on a contemporary reinterpretation of the typical architectural features of historic noble palaces: from the panelling to the floors in Venetian terrazzo, to the layout of the rooms, all the way to the colour that sets each room apart.
This choice becomes the fil rouge of the whole building, offering a unique visual experience, in tune with the works of art by Jason Martin, Brigitte Kowanz and Astrid Krogh, included as a tribute to the Venice Biennale.
Karice - Olah Table Lamp
