Massifcentral's Grand Cepe receives 'Special Mention' at 'German Design Award 2019'
(Germany) - Grand Cepe won big at the 'German Design Award 2019', the highest official design awards in Germany. They are presented by the German Design Council under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Business and Technology.
The award's international jury of experts said: "This design combines a metal cylinder with a heavy glass disc mounted horizontally - thus making the luminaire visually arresting even when it's switched off. That said, the intriguing beauty of the unusually structured lampshade only becomes apparent when the luminaire is switched on."
Christian Seltmann, Managing Partner at Massifcentral, gave his thoughts on the company's big win: "This award confirms our philosophy: To unite outstanding design with innovative technology and create luminaires that are not only visual highlights but also exploit the fascination and magic of light in its full beauty."
Currently Grand Cepe is available with the finishes Black, Stainless Steellook, Highgloss Nickled Chromelook, and Matte Brass.

Yellow Goat Design - Northern Lights
Nature uses the Earth’s magnetic field to create miracles in the sky. Man has to use suspended prisms to even come close. This large-scale LED acrylic piece is a wonder. Utilizing the reflection of the acrylic elements, Northern Light’s movement and ingenuity give one of the greatest lightshows a run for its money.
Yellow Goat Design - Deco-ish
Deco-ish is a piece that needs no introductions. Perfectly at home in the salons of Paris or the clubs of New York, each acrylic panel is the epitome of modern Art Deco. Deco-ish is the most talked about in the room and its unobtainable glamour is as close as a star to the moon and as distant as the mist covered future.
Yellow Goat Design - Scattergun Effect

A cacophony of irregular, artistic cutouts with LED lighting, Scattergun has a cheeky paper-cut look that won’t back down on style. Its boldness is its charm and its design detail hits the target every time.
Nove Lighting launches cork table lights
(UK) - Harmoniously fusing modern silhouettes with the patina of natural cork, Nove’s four new statement table lights include a choice of two striking styles, both available in either marbled or blackened cork finishes.
The cork is carefully and sustainably hand-harvested from the self-regenerating Cork Oak tree and skilfully worked by hand to create uniquely grained cork lights.
“Each of our new table lights is thoughtfully crafted from a single block of either marbled or blackened cork, which involves a skilled, labour-intensive process of precision and craftsmanship which remains at the heart of every piece we make. Our contemporary designs are further enhanced by the customisation of contrasting solid brass with chamfered edge detailing, bringing a cool, soft glow to our lamps," said Kirsty Saxon, founder of Nove.
“The new table lights collection features two unique designs; The Table Light and The Stacked Light. The Table Light features a sleek, simple column of beautiful marbled or blackened cork and is finished with an elegant chamfered, weighted solid brass base.
“The Stacked Light features a wider cork base which has been hand-cut to precision to create striking, crisp, clean channels for a unique stacked effect. Again available in both marbled and blackened finishes, the Stacked Light also features a subtle chamfered brass element around the flex aperture for an extra luxury aesthetic.
“Both of our new table light designs are inclusive of three meters of luxe woven cable in a choice of three earthy colours; old gold, khaki and black, and all come fitted with an elegant in-line switch. We recommend fitting our table lights with a large globe light bulb or a beautiful, hand-sandblasted opaque Tala bulb, which both work perfectly to create a balanced, stylish aesthetic and a warm, sophisticated glow; ideal for placing on bedside or end tables in any home. Both of our table light designs also look stunning alongside our wider range of cork wall lights, pendant lights and ceiling roses, which can be mixed and matched to create a truly coordinated aesthetic.”
