Studio N appoints Managing Director
(UAE) - Alexander Holler joins lighting design studio to grow business and presence in region.
Studio N is a new lighting design studio in the UAE that provides creative, simple lighting design solutions on projects with limited budgets in the region.
Having launched earlier this year it has seen rapid growth, with clients requesting services that will enhance the design of their projects, from façade lighting to private villas, a restaurant refurbishment and a hotel project in Oman.
With a background in sales and business development and a strong foundation in premium lighting solutions, Holler has the ability to grow Studio N and deliver great quality projects for designers looking for good value.
"I want to continue to develop Studio N as the go-to partner when it comes to a flexible, efficient lighting design consultancy service," said Holler. "I believe that the lack of budgets for lighting design often leads to a negative effect on the whole project. I don’t think that free design services, nor the supply of cheap alternatives are helpful. I’m a true believer in quality work in all aspects. My focus is on building strong relationships with our clients, so we can continuously elevate their spaces through simple and creative lighting solutions.
"Over the years, the Middle East has always been a fast-past environment where businesses have to adapt quickly and efficiently to keep their fingers on the pulse and compete in an international melting pot of different cultures and minds. I think over the next twelve months we will see further improvements in smart lighting control systems, which are able to learn a kind of ‘lighting consciousness’ by constantly adding new capabilities and automatically adapting to its users."

2LG Studio & CDH launch Capsule collection
(UK) - 2LG Studio and Cameron Design House collaborates on new Capsule lighting range.
The latest addition to CDH's range of sculptural lighting, Capsule includes three unique designs created in collaboration with 2LG Studio.
With a shared passion for lighting's unique ability to transform the atmosphere of any space, the three Capsule designs - Alas, Keski and Saldo take inspiration from classic strip lighting.
Suited to hospitality and residential environments, Capsule has been crafted for the design duo's kitchen and studio renovation and aims to create something that is both familiar and entirely innovative in its final form.
"The challenge was to take the classic strip light and re-imagine it in a contemporary context," said Jordan and Russell, 2LG Studio. "We love to disrupt the norm and wanted to do just that with our Victorian property. The lights are a key part of that for us. Bringing an ultra modern edge to the period architecture. Making strip lights sexy."
Each light is created in a pill shape that combines the meticulous craftsmanship of CDH with a playful approach to luxury lighting. Available in four colour options: tropical green, flamingo pink and electric powder coated paints, as well as brushed brass - the Capsule collection crafts a contemporary statement of practicality and collaboration.
"Collaboration pushes the boundaries of design," says Ian Cameron, Creative Director of Cameron Design House. "When we met 2LG at Milan Design Week last year and got on like a house on fire, we knew that we would create something beautiful together - resulting in the Capsule collection! The Capsule collection epitomises design meeting practicality."

Jesse Ede
This week’s ‘Quick Fire’ comes from Jesse Ede, a designer, maker, crafter and artist. In his work, Ede is drawn to more natural materials, ones that do not necessarily appear ‘finished’. He enjoys capturing the rough nature of truly organic surfaces, manipulating them to expose the contrast between the material itself and the man-made processes that form them into sculptures.
