One Beam of Light curation complete
The photographs have been curated by a guest panel of prominent industry figures: Keith Bradshaw of Speirs & Major, Gerd Pfarre of Pfarré Lighting Design, Matt Clark of UVA, Paul James of mondo*arc and Terence Woodgate of Studio Woodgate, who combined, have over 80 years of industry experience between them.
On discussing the curation process, Sharon Stammers and Martin Lupton the creative force behind Light Collective commented: “It has been a brilliant experience watching the curation panel making its decision on the final 30 images. The panel adhered rigorously to the judging criteria and chose photographs that demonstrated high levels of creativity and technical ability, whilst also taking photographic quality into account.
“It was also a pleasure for us to view all the images again during the day. It became evident that many participants perceived the brief of the project just as we did, drawing their inspiration from the world around them, by what they like about the medium of light, then trying to create something thought provoking and different. The global lighting community has risen to the challenge and demonstrated how well they can manipulate light. Now we have the final images selected, we can’t wait to see them displayed in their full glory at the exhibition in central London later in the year.”
